As
a teenager, Margaret studied oils in West Vancouver with Charles
Stegeman and Francois Andre. Over the years she has taken many courses
in Drawing, Batik, Silkscreen and Pottery. After time spent raising a
family, she studied for a year with Bill Porteus in Victoria. In 1997,
Margaret graduated from the Victoria College of Art. She is now living
on Pender Island and experimenting in many different mediums.
Her art
work has been shown at the Talisman Book Store on Pender
Island, the Sooke Fine Arts Show, the Sidney Fine Art Show, the
Victoria Arts Council Gallery, in a number of Alumni shows for the
Victoria College of Art and in a joint show with Jim Swain at the
Victoria Community Arts Gallery.
"I enjoy colour, line,
shapes and I love exploring inside of what-ever I am portraying on the
canvas or paper. We are all made up of layers!"
