I
received my art education at the Victoria College of Art. For
many years I painted mostly with acrylics or oils on canvas and I liked
a fairly large format. However, since an accident in 2006 has
limited my physical mobility and dexterity, I am now working with
watercolours and enjoying their lightness and fluidity. I am also
exploring my attraction to line, and trying to combine it in a
satisfying way with the beautiful watercolour palette. I am
inspired by Dufy and other non traditional water colourists."
"Another
new medium for me is the basic paint program on my computer. A graphic
style, line and colour come together for me and I use these small
‘paintings’ to create fun and colourful cards. I have always been
partial to the plants that volunteer in my garden – every year
something different has its day. I think my
attitude to art
is the same – you can put in all the work you need to, but welcome the
un-expected…it is often the most delightful."
