Canadian
born artist Mae Moore has lived on both the East Coast, West Coast and
many regions in between and it is her love of these landscapes that
drew her to painting. Although Mae is perhaps better known for her
music, having recorded seven albums and achieved inter-national
recognition for that medium, she began her artistic journey with a
paintbrush in hand. "I feel fortunate to have been able to
travel throughout many communities in Canada from Newfoundland to Haida
Gwaii, through the sugar maple bush, down the sagebrushed foothills to
the fecund tidal pools. The landscapes of this country are the source of
my inspiration...the ever changing sky of a prairie summer, or the way
the light falls on a slack tide. The colours that I use are more about
the feeling that I get from what I am observing in this world." Mae's works are found in private collections in Canada, the US, Britain and Australia. | | Medicine Beach
