Mira has been exploring fabric arts for many years, beginning with batik and tie-dye. She works on ready made clothing, scarves and natural fibres such as cotton, hemp, rayon and silk.

Mira enjoys the dye process, using colour to create pattern or as a ground for hand painted images. Her current work includes shibori with stitched or folded resists, tie-dye, block printing and hand painting. She cuts her own stencils and blocks for her original designs. Each of these is reproduced by hand with fabric paints.

Mira is inspired by natural forms, sea life and prehistoric art.
